Northern Ontario entrepreneur, Mark McPherson has recently opened Simple Long Distance; a Sault Ste. Marie based company that provides residential long distance service to Canadian consumers. Mark and his staff have been involved in the sale of telecommunication services across Canada for the last five years.
The local company’s claimed advantage over the most popular service providers is price and promises savings of over $10 dollars per month when compared to Bell Canada’s unlimited North American calling package. Simple Long Distance’s office manager Melissa Slivinsky states, “Our clients have expressed a real dissatisfaction with the larger telephone companies and are frustrated with all their hidden fees.” The Northern Ontario company states that customers can keep their current home phone provider, and that no contracts or credit checks are required. A direct dial feature means that customers will not have to dial 10 - 10 or 1- 800, they can simply dial the number as they previously had.
The company initially tested the waters with local consumers. While conquering the Sault Ste. Marie market they uncovered a very strong interest from Sudbury as well. They are now expanding their focus to accommodate this response. Today they announce that Sudbury residents who would like to try the service can call and receive a FREE month of Unlimited North American calling.

A son départ, la compagnie a fait un bref sondage chez ses consommateurs locaux. Tout en conquérant le marché de Sault Ste. Marie ils ont découvert un très grand intérêt à Sudbury aussi. Ils ont maintenant centré leurs attentions afin de répondre à cet intérêt.
